Legend of Korra: Spirits

The Legend of Korra finished another season, only this time, the show concentrates on Spirits. Again, the show is about the Avatar being reincarnated and must master the four elements to protect the world. Not really for young audiences. For more information on The Legend of Korra season 1 go to http://anniemayanime.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-legend-of-korra.html

Korra
The waterbender who is the new reincarnation of the Avatar. A stubborn girl who listens more to her gut than her head.

Mako
The now clean man who thrives to maintain peace in Republic City. However, this firebender is going through a difficult time.

Bolin
The strong and sweet earthbender who starts to be on his own. He starts to go through the pain of being a someone.

Asami
The president of Future Industries, she has a responsibility to take over her father's company. Being wise and logical during the show.

Tenzin
The youngest son of Aang and Katara, he begins to understand more about his family. We see that he is not all calm and patient.

The show introduces new characters, most of them are related to Korra or Tenzin. They all play very strong roles during the show. Able to stand on their own throughout the show. Also gives more history to some of the characters of the show.

The overall plot is more about the origins of the Avatar, so more Spirits. As a result, the plot may have a heavy concentration on the Avatar story compare to the other characters. Compare to the previous season, this show revolves around Spirits and less on the progress of the Avatar.

The music of the show is decent, similar to the Avatar and the first season of Korra. However, this season does a better job on adding beautiful music at the right time. Less jazz music and more of the Avatar: The Last Airbender music. Opening and ending are the same as the season one. Nothing really changed.

The animation is well done, nothing much as changed. The background is beautiful, especially in the Spirit world. A sometimes cartoonish during the flashbacks or history part of the show. And the fighting style, it is also a bit different,  a bit more quick and more flexible. Also they invented a new sport, which reminds me of wrestling and boxing.

The voice actors are the same as first season. They are adequate and due portray emotions. There are some voice acting that are just not suitable to their characters. And there are sometimes overacting. Definitely can tell the voice acting declines at the end. However, decent for an Avatar season.

The show has an awesome ending, the finale was a real shocker. A hint that there is another season to come. However, there is an issue with the love lines. PLEASE stop this romance! Too...ugh. But an overall decent show for fans of the Avatar cartoon. Love Wan's story. (His picture is to the left.)

The show highlights that each era has a different quality to them. Even though things have not worked in the past, it may not be true in the future. As a result, each generation will be different from the past for better or for worse. No matter how much people complain about the future, there is no change if we dwell in the past. So keep an open mind but keep true to yourself.

Personally this show gives us different perspectives of humans and spirits. Similar to Raava and Vaatu fight, we need to hear both sides for a complete understanding of the situation. If not, those misunderstanding sprout weeds of corruption, chaos, etc. So don't be rash when making decisions and picking sides.
