Attack on Titan: Manga

I totally forgot the difference between the manga and anime for Attack on Titan. So here is a more in dept explanation of the differences. WARNING: There may be major spoilers so avoid.

The first thing I noticed was that the anime is more chronological order while the manga uses flashbacks. In the beginning, the aftermath of Wall Maria refugees is well known in the anime compare to the manga. In comparison, the manga jumps from the destruction of Wall Maria to Eren being a soldier. Nice and quick. Another example is the trainee days, we meet the 104th trainees squad and see them become full fledged soldiers. While the manga show them graduating, the top ten of the group.

Eren seems to have scenes where it can last for 10 minutes but be a few second for the manga. Eren rant seems to be prolonged, especially when he talks about Titans. Example of Eren scenes is him deciding to fight with Annie or not. Cause in the manga, he already bulk up and decided to kill. While in the anime, he seems to hold Annie as a close friend and struggles to fight her.

Another scene in the anime that is not in the manga is when the Female Titan mission failed, the Survey Corps were retrieving dead bodies. Two men wanted to get their friend's dead body, but in the end they had to abandon him and other bodies to escape. This scene show what happen as Eren was knocked out. And also to show Levi relationship with Petra. Ooooh!
For the manga, a scene not in the anime was the journal of a
Survey Corps during an Expedition outside the Wall. Her group has been devoured and she runs away from the Titan, while writing in her journal. She then encounter a Titan who was displaying odd behavior that will be crucial information for the series.

A major differences is the gruesomeness. The manga show the death of soldiers, being bitten alive. While the anime sometimes cut off to a different scene, not showing their comrades death. Sometimes. One thing is true, the manga is so gruesome. And the anime was unable to show these scenes on public TV, apparently.

Despite these differences, the anime does a well job is following the manga very closely. So this is one of the few shows that does not have fillers or deviate from the manga's plot. Thank goodness. And personally the anime does a better job in making the plot just horrifying. The Titans and characters seem more scary in the anime compare to the manga.

Anime: Does well in explaining the situation so it is easier for people to grasp the situation. However, some scenes are prolonged, which can be good or bad. But the animation is way better.
Manga: Does not prolong boring scenes. If there is, it is used as flashbacks. And the story keeps the main focus on Eren, and a few scenes that are important or will be in the future.

ADVICE: Watch the anime before you read the mange, because the anime is more enjoyable. Some scenes are suspenseful and awesome, that reading the manga just ruins it. AND be careful of Googling this series. Even though I gave you guys spoilers.

Excited for Season 2 to come out. I mean, a perfect cliff hanger and transition to the second season....OMG!!!!!
Yes, it is NOT confirmed that Season 2 will happen. But it's popularity makes it impossible for a Season 2 to not come out.
