Otaku Says 2

Here are a variety of words that were not covered last time.



Chibi-small and cute version of adults. Key features are big head and small body. Some anime like to create a show just of chibi form. Ex. Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals.
Chissu-what's up. Usually said with same peers.
Cosplay-short for costume play, where one dresses up as a character from a media such as anime, manga, or video game.
Fanservice-material use to excite the audience. Usually from sexual content
Fujoshi-female fans of manga that feature romantic relationship between males.
Gomen-I'm sorry. Used as an apology.
Gomenasai-Excuse me. Not confused with an apology.
Henshin-transformation. Similar to how Sailor Moon transform.
Itadakimasu-Thank you for the food. Said before a meal. In most anime, they put their hands together, similar to a prayer, while saying this word. (No English term for the word)
Kakkoi-cool look and demeanor. Usually used for aloof popular character.
Kimono-dress gown worn for traditions. In essence, a fashion dress in old time Japan.
Kuro rekishi-a horrible even that is never mentioned
Loli-females usually under the age of 12
Moshimoshi-hello when on the phone. Not used when greeting people face to face.
NEET-not currently seeking employment education or training
Yukata-a  casual summer version of the kimono, not too fancy. Mostly worn in festivals.
