Pokemon The Origin

So, this show is a makeover to the classic games, Pokemon Red and Blue. The plot is about two trainers who are given to the task to complete the Pokedex: device that records information on Pokemon that are caught.
*Pokemon: Pocket Monsters that can be used as pets or to battle other Pokemon.

Red
The clumsy boy who has the determination and will to do whatever he sets his mind to. At first, he had a difficult time, but thanks to gym leader, Takeshi (Brock), he learns what it means to obtain strength. He has a strong drive to complete his Pokedex, holding battles and everything else second. As a result, he seems more innocent and selfless compare to his rival, Green.

Green
A conceited young man, who is always trying to be better than Red, in everything. Because of his attitude and motive, he fails to understand the true meaning of raising his Pokemon. However, he shows to be very knowledgeable about Pokemon. Even though he is a strong trainer, he can be wuss in some situations.

Just like the game, the characters range from the minor trainers to the gym leaders. However, beside the main characters, the other get little screen time. WARNING SPOILERS: The plot is broken into four parts/episodes. The beginning, Ghost Tower, final Gym Leader, and the ending.

The plot shows that the main core of the Pokemon game is to complete the Pokedex. But Red does struggle to capture all the Pokemon. As a result, he starts to gain experience and strength by battling trainers and going to the Pokemon League.

The voice actors are decent, however, due to expectations, I failed to appreciate the voices. Personally, I thought that Red would be more...boyish. Not Naruto. And Green, who acts like an immature jerk, sounds older. Overall, the voice actors are not all bad, they do give the tone for the story: immense joy in getting their first Pokemon, conceited attitude of the rival, etc.

The music of the show is near identical to the Pokemon games with a bit more modern sound. Has that classic tune but with more instrumental sound to fit the anime and not the game. So its definitely nice, especially if you grew up playing the game. Can be a bit redundant, since it seems that there is some sort of music playing. Most of the music is background music and unlike the other tv shows, does not have a catchy theme song.

The animation of the show is a not that great. It seems to be faithful to the game's character design for both Pokemon and human. Just a bit different from the original artwork. Overall, the characters seem to be a rushed. However, the background is decent, it has a nice scenery to show the Kanto region of Pokemon. Did well in the details to give a prestige look.

Compare to the manga, the characters are similar but definitely not there design. In essence, everything is different besides the character name and the main goal is to complete the Pokedex and become a Pokemon Champion.
Game differences it does follow the original game but the character design definitely follow the more modern game, FireRed and LeafGreen. And the plot is similar, defeating gym leaders and going through obstacles like Team Rocket.

Since the show is suppose to be based on the game, it does a decent job showing Red using different Pokemon to obtain his goals. Similar to how people change their Pokemon while playing the game. After watching the show, it gives us the lesson that with willpower one can achieve great things. Sometimes when you are at odds, you just need to go through it, cause no one knows the future.

When you look more closely, people have more issues with money and power, which can cloud our passions. This can be due to growing up or just the situation. As a result, avoid what you love without any connections to power and money. Because it will be soiled to become more bothersome than a fun.
Verdict:  The show can bring back some fond memories of the first game or give people a new view on Pokemon, instead of Ash. However, it definitely is trying to sell their new game, X and Y. Because *SPOILERS* there is the Mega Evolution which is only seen in the new Pokemon games. So not entirely a nostalgic show, but a definitely for those die hard Pokemon game fans.

So did anyone else enjoy this show? Should they have kept the Mega Evolution or no? Would you prefer a series instead of these short episodes?
